Good Intro to Fonts with CSS
CSS guru Eric Meyer has a good introductory tutorial to designating fonts with CSS at O'Reilly Network: Working with Fonts and CSS. This tutorial explains things clearly and concisely, including basic font selection and cross-platform issues. The tutorial isn’t too long, provides some great basics, and provides further resources to learn more after you’ve gotten your feet wet here.
Also highly recommended is Meyer’s CSS book, Cascading Style Sheets: The Definitive Guide. I have it and refer to it often. There’s also his helpful CSS Pocket Reference and handy Cascading Style Sheets 2.0 Programmer’s Reference.
