The Art of Explanation

Poynter Online has a terrific section, The Art of Explanation, “to showcase the efforts of visual journalists as they help readers find clarity.” This section is also for sharing ideas and processes for improving graphics. Seeing how professional journalists and editors use graphics to help clarify and accentuate content can be insightful and inspiring for utilizing helpful graphics for websites.

I also highly recommend Poynter’s Visual Journalism Bibliography and Photojournalism Bibliography for more information and inspiration for visual imagery, just two of the abundant valuable resources available at Poynter Online.
