Brainstorms and Raves Moving Dust: Converting to Movable Type

Just a heads up that there may be a few bumps in the road during the next week or two while converting my posts from Blogger to Movable Type. Well, I’m doing a lot more than that, though, with setting up much easier archiving, comments and trackbacks, and more... finally! You may even click one of my RSS feed links and land within the staging area. I’m already posting over there about my Movable Type adventures, too. If you see any problems, please let me know so that I can take care of them ASAP. Comments and trackbacks are working in the new area, too. I’m working on this after hours, which is why I’m posting this at midnight (ugh!), but hopefully I’ll get things set up before too long.

  1. The processing time for comments or when I add categories or other changes to posts is getting increasingly sluggish and I’m getting increasingly more CGI timeout errors. The errors seem to be occurring more as I’ve imported increasingly more of my posts from Blogger. Comments at MT Support forums recommend upgrading to some version of SQL instead; however, at the moment mySQL or MSSQL isn’t available on my ISP’s server. I’m wondering what other options are possible.
