MT and Perl Upgrades

My Movable Type installation has been down since sometime Friday. After researching, posting an inquiry to MT Forums’s thread Username and Blog Disappeared!, and writing to the MT folks, Ben quickly responded to let me know that it’s probably due to a server-related Perl upgrade that my ISP did Friday. Hopefully I’ll be back up and running here before the weekend is over.
My ISP is taking care of the server side issues, thankfully. Little did he know when he upgraded his server Friday that it would knock out his clients' MT installations. He’s only recently had clients wanting Movable Type, so it’s been a good learning experience for all of us. I suspect he’d much rather be sipping ice tea by the pool on this warm Saturday than dealing with these unexpected server issues, though. If he decides to sip tea by the pool today instead, considering it’s the weekend after all, I’ll be back up and running sometime Monday or so.
In the meantime, comments and trackbacks aren’t working, and I can’t post updates to the site via MT. It’s only temporary, fortunately. Sorry for the inconvenience.
