More Great Fonts!
The other day I paid another visit to About.com’s Free Fonts section. About.com’s Desktop Publishing Guide, Jacci Howard Bear, has put together a truly exceptional fonts section.
The Free Fonts section offers quite a range of information about fonts. It also offers a free Fabulous Fonts newsletter, with archives available at the site, too.
The Fabulous Fonts - April 03, 2001 issue offers links to some free postscript fonts, its section on Themed Fonts, top school fonts, and font tips.
Last week’s Fabulous Fonts - March 26, 2001 issue offers several featured fonts (free!), including selections by Ray Larabie of the well-known Larabie Fonts (20th Century Font, a Retro font and Minya Nouvelle, a fun slab serif font), ShyFonts (SF Espionage, another fun, slightly grunge and typewriter-like font) and some favorites from About.com’s own Font Library.
The Font section also has a fabulous online forum, About Type and Fonts, where you can ask your font-related questions, like where to find that great font, or what’s the name of a font you saw somewhere, and questions you may have about fonts
I’m glad I revisited this section, as it has continued to grow and blossom, thanks to the TLC from About.com’s guide, Jacci Howard Bear. About.com’s Font section is among the many high quality annotated font-related links in WebsiteTips.com’s Fonts section that includes free fonts, shareware, commercial font sources, font organizers, font-making programs, and much more!
